Picture Board is an easy to use interface for people who are unable to speak or see clearly. It is intended to augment the existing communication processes when a person is unable to speak and needs to make simple requests.

If a person under nursing care wishes to communicate, she/he can use this application to make simple requests via the touch interface. Additionally, the keyboard option allows the Picture Board user to type in a phrase (optionally it can be used with the iPad’s built-in Accessibility options and the user can even have the typed text spoken).

Uses:
Person who is unable to talk can communicate simple or complex requests and respond to yes or no questions.
Nursing homes can use Picture Board to communicate with persons under their care.
First responders can use Picture Board to communicate with persons who require first aid.
