THE APP:

Pickles Maths Game for Kids is not just another "fun" maths app for children. It was created to assist with the actual educational process they go through for mathematics in school.

So, this is a purpose-built mathematics app ... not simply a child's game with numbers in it. And there are no adverts for your child to accidentally click, like in many of the free kids apps.

PLAYING:

You will know your child's ability best, so Pickles Maths allows you to customize the learning process with optional picture helps and a "less-tricky" mode for the early stages ... or for those days when older children are just plain tired!

This app is aimed at children aged 4-6 for addition and subtraction using the numbers 1 to 20. Although, when set to maximum levels, children 6+ could find it very useful for training and embedding math in their brains.
Think you already have the numbers 1-20 under your belt? Try it yourself on the ‘maximum' setting in the ‘mixed maths' area and judge how quickly your brain responds ... you might be surprised! ;)

As adults, when someone says 2 + 2 to us, we don't sit and calculate ... we know the answer is 4. This app will hopefully help children gain that sort of confidence across the whole base line of numbers to have an instant reaction to the relationship between them.

FUN?

With children aged 4 and up, learning still has to be fun. The format of this app is encouragingly competitive with scorecards and progress tracking - as well as having plenty of themed graphics, sounds and movies along the way. No babyish images and no bedtime music. (We've used fireworks instead!)
