Application Description
ParkingPass is the ultimate parking App. Whether you just want to know how much time you have left on the meter, a reminder before your meter expires, directions back to your car, or information about recent meter maids sightings, this app does it all!
Check potential parking spots before you drive to determine recent meter enforcement activity. Supports both traditional meters as well as parking garages. Save a photo of where you parked as well as any useful information/notes (e.g., "parked in lot 12").
Designed by a math professor, ParkingPass was built to utilize basic concepts from game theory: in order to avoid getting parking tickets, ParkingPass users cooperate by reporting meter maid presence. Whether you are a driver, or a pedestrian, you can help people in your town avoid frustrating parking tickets by "dropping a pin" on a map to mark the location of meter maids you encounter while out on the town. Drivers benefit from the resulting "push notifications" they receive, and from the built-in reminders on time remaining on their meters. This App may also benefit the meter maids... that is, if they can manage to organize & cooperate! ParkingPass may also help to free-up more parking spaces by motivating drivers to check the parking situation before they decide to drive, giving them the ability to accurately monitor their remaining meter time, and they will be more likely to move their car (or add $) when their time is up.
ParkingPass was made to assist everyone, and is very customizable. If you don't need/want meter expiration reminders, or if you don't need/want meter maid push notifications sent to you when meter maids are sighted, you can turn these features off. Expiration reminders can be set anywhere from 5 to 50 minutes ahead of time (in 5 min increments). When you choose to be notified of meter maids and someone else reports a sighting (within 1,500 feet of your parking spot), ParkingPass sends you an alert if your meter expired in the past hour or expires within the next 15 minutes.
