Ottawa Nav gives users up-to-the-minute traffic and road information in Ottawa, Ontario. Depending on your search criteria, you can choose to get road and traffic information from a 2.5 or up to 100 kilometre radius, depending on your distance of travel.

Ottawa Nav is a city-wide companion that delivers personalized information and services to Ottawa residents and visitors equipped with the software on their device. All information is available in both English and French.

The app alerts you to local events and situations on your travel route, giving you the best information to make smart travel decisions, including:

• High traffic volume and congestion
• Construction activity
• Road closures and detours
• Unplanned incidents – i.e. emergencies and collisions
• Special events – i.e. parades and festivals
• Approaching emergency response vehicles
• Location of snow removal vehicles

The app can operate on two modes – driver and passenger. The driver mode provides verbal information, preventing any distraction to the motorist’s attention. The passenger mode provides mapping details and access to view over 200 traffic camera feeds from both the City of Ottawa and the Ministry of Transportation Ontario.

The Ottawa Nav app is a partnership of City of Ottawa and Ryerson University, and powered by Flybits, an emerging Canadian platform.
