“Street teams" gather emails for your newspaper’s program at a local events. Armed with pencils and clipboards, they return to the office with a crumpled pile of chicken-scratch. Time is wasted trying to decipher this so-called "hand-writing," and more time is wasted when your admin or salesperson is tasked with inputting the data into your system. Couldn’t they be doing something more productive? Heaven forbid they mistype a name or address. What's left of your street-team’s clipboard is then filed with your IT department to import into your newsletter software. Did IT get the file? When are they going to import it?

As you or your street team members gather email addresses at your event, they are saved to the "Current Signups" area of the app. Once your event is completed or you need to move to another event, you save that list of signups to the local archive called "List Archives". If you have internet access, while you're saving it to the List Archives, you can - at the same time - send the list in an email attachment. OptIn will automatically create a .CSV file and attach it to an email so, if you're out in the field, you can get it to those who need it quickly. There are other options as well, such as saving the list as a .CSV file, where you can later retrieve it through iTunes connect documents. Also, if you configure a web server (directions at http://optin.lanyapmediaworks.com), you can send the list as an XML directly to your web server.
