Application Description
This app is brought to you by Presentable Ltd, the makers of the BBC programme Only Connect.
Now you can enjoy playing Only Connect’s Connecting Wall on your iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Only Connect, Britain’s ‘brainy’ quiz is the only series where, as in life itself, knowledge will only take you so far: patience and lateral thinking are also vital.
Featuring host Victoria Coren and the original music soundtrack from the series.
All Only Connect Connecting Walls consist of 16 clues. You need to:
(1) Sort the 16 clues into 4 connected groups of 4
(2) State what exactly connects each of those 4 groups
You have 3 minutes to complete each Wall. A time bar above each Wall indicates how much time you’ve got left. If you run out of time, the game ends.
Some of the clues may fit into more than one group, but there is only one complete and correct solution. Watch out for red herrings!
Once you’ve played Walls 1-10 you’ll unlock a free Bonus Pack of 10 Walls. Additional Wall Packs are also available.

SORTING THE CLUES
Select a clue to highlight it. Once 4 clues are highlighted, a sound will indicate whether or not you’ve correctly identified a group. If you’re correct, the wall will reconfigure. If you’re incorrect, the clues de-select and remain exactly where they were.
If at any stage you’ve selected a clue but change your mind, simply select the clue again and it automatically deselects.
3 LIVES
You have an unlimited number of attempts at identifying the first 2 groups of 4. Once 2 groups have been correctly identified you have just 3 attempts to sort the remaining 8 clues.
If each of those 3 attempts is unsuccessful the game automatically ends.
SOLVING THE WALL
Once the third group of clues has been correctly identified, the Wall will reconfigure to show that all 16 clues have now been correctly sorted.
SUBMITTING THE CONNECTIONS
Once you’ve correctly identified the 4 groups, and with the clock still ticking, a text box appears beneath each of the correctly sorted groups of 4 clues. In each box you should type in the connections - what it is that connects those 4 clues. Hit ‘Done’ when you’re happy with each answer.
SCORING
There’s a point for each correctly solved group and a point for each correct connection, plus 2 bonus points if you’ve come up with the complete solution.
