Application Description
On the Box is an Australian TV guide for the iPhone and iPod touch. On the Box is powered by IceTV, the independent Australia free-to-air Electronic Program Guide (EPG), and requires a paid IceTV subscription.
The user interface is slick and simple, and the TV Guide is stored on your iPhone or iPod touch. Put these together and you get a zippy app that’s fun to use, and that works even when there’s no 3G or Wi-Fi connection.
On the Box's TV Guide can be browsed by time-of-day or by channel, and can be searched to find out when your favourite program is on. By allowing searches to be saved as Bookmarks, On the Box becomes your own personalised TV guide.
New in version 1.2, On the Box now supports Twitter. When you select a TV show, On the Box displays a real-time feed of what people are saying about that show. Of course, you can use On the Box to tweet about the show too.
Before you buy On the Box, there are some important things you should know:
1. The app requires a PAID IceTV subscription, and will not work with a (free) IceTV widget or iPhone account.
2. The app does not support "IceTV Interactive" functionality (e.g., remote recording).
