Old Ireland is a personal exploration of some of the most mysterious and wonderful places to be found in Ireland. It takes you off the beaten path and down country lanes where you may be transported back in time to the days of castles, great estates and hidden streams.

This version of Old Ireland lets you explore by place or by subject matter. It features beautiful photography and just enough by way of notes to pique your interest. This app is based on our own explorations of this fascinating country during an extended visit in the spring of 2009.

We could have called this app The Stones of Ireland. It seems that if you give an Irishman a few rocks, he would build you a cathedral. God certainly gave the Irish plenty of stones and, as evidenced by the photos here, you will see they put them to good use!

Just a note of caution: this app is NOT a comprehensive guidebook. In fact, it may not be of any use to you at all. Its sole purpose is to bring you a bit of pleasure and , hopefully, inspire you to make your own journey to this enchanted island.

Enjoy!
