My name is Duane Keiser and I'm a painter from Richmond, Virginia.

This app accompanies my blog of the same name where I am in the process of making one thousand very small oil paintings-- they are a little smaller than an iPhone screen. I usually paint one every few days or so. 

So what's an oddment?  I originally made these paintings on pieces of board leftover from my larger paintings and started referring to them as oddments. An oddment is "a remnant or part of something, typically leftover from a larger piece." It can also mean something odd or unusual. The dimensions of the oddments for this project are typically about 3"x2.5" and painted on Belgian linen glued to board.

My subjects run the gamut-- one day I might paint the ocean and the next day I might paint a lifesaver candy. I think of them as visual haiku-- simple observations of the places and things I find each day. 

There are two ways to buy an oddment: be the first to email me when one becomes available OR buy/reserve an upcoming number-- so if you buy, say, number 200, then oddment number 200 will be yours, whatever it may be, when it is eventually completed (I call this the "cracker jack option" since the subject will be a surprise.)

They are currently $150 each.

This app will keep you up to date on my latest oddments as well as display an archive of the entire collection. The app will also make it easy to mail me if you spot a painting you want to purchase or a number you want to reserve. The initial load time is about thirty seconds as the app updates the archives but thereafter it should load quite quickly.
