A really useful, easy-to-use healthy diet tool to track and keep a running total of calories and the percentage recommended daily allowance (%RDA) of fiber, carbohydrate, sugars, protein, fat, calcium, iron, potassium, sodium, and vitamins A, B9 (folate), C, E, and K, provided by the fruit you eat. Tap the “Track” tool on the top menu bar, set the male/female (M/F) toggle, then follow the instructions to select fruits from the A to Z list or using the finder and their weight in g or oz (use the weight estimation guide if necessary), for a display of the Nutrient Running Total for each nutrient. Tap on any nutrient in the display to find out the individual contributions of the fruits in the quantities you’ve defined. Tap on the menu bar where instructed to find out more about the nutrient. Tap any fruit in the Fruit Contribution screen to find out the calories and the %RDA of nutrients provided by the individual fruit in the quantity you’ve defined. Tap on the fruit name as instructed in the top menu bar for access to detailed nutritional information about the fruit including its heart-healthy score, dietary suggestions, photos and useful hyperlinks to essential nutrient knowledge and other really useful information. This information can also be accessed through the rainbow opening screen where fruits are sorted according to the %RDA of each nutrient they contain per 100g and in an A to Z format too. Use the bookmark function to archive favourites.
The interface is easy, quick, and intuitive to navigate, colour-coded, searchable, zoomable using the pinch screen function, and viewable in portrait and landscape.
Specially edited and designed for iPhone, iPad, and iPod screens. Compiled and edited by UK-registered medical editor Dr Lindy van den Berghe, BMedSci, BM, BS; software design by Dr Sven van den Berghe, PhD.
