The object of News Guard is to scan lots of RSS feeds and report the news you are interested in. You define keywords, or "Guards" that triggers when the application finds the word in any of the articles that you just downloaded.

Please note that The News Guard is a memory intensive application. If you experience problems, please reboot you phone or exit other applications that might consume large amounts of memory. If you still experience problems, decrease the number of feeds to check.

You start by setting up a subscription to a number of feeds. News Guard comes pre-packaged with over 150 subscription packages with an average of 105 feeds per package. You can check several hundred of feeds at the same time, the exact number is determined by which device you are using.

News Guard cares about your privacy!
We had that in mind when we started the development of this application. That's why NewsGuard does all the searching on your phone after the RSS feeds are downloaded. The NewsGuard never sends either keywords or articles to any server. What you are looking at is your business.
