WEB DESIGN:

Web design is about creating for the internet. The course covers a broad aspect of areas including design, development, user experience, usability.
The BA (Hons) Web Design is specifically targeted towards designing for online multimedia, facilitating a thorough exploration and understanding of web concepts.

GAMES DESIGN:

The programme focuses on designing for computer games, which are the most visible of the modes of representation to involve what is known as interactivity, representing a convergence in both communications and entertainment media.
Emphasis is placed on the design, rather than the technology, of computer games, exploring the notion of play in interactive digital media on all platforms within a conceptual framework called gaming.

Course content includes game play and genre and relationship to previous forms, interaction, screen design and conventions, narrative and narrative development, characterisation, level design, and their integration within the context of a non-linear game environment.

INTERACTIVE MEDIA:

The Foundation Degree in Digital Media Journalism is intended for those who aspire to become professional practitioners in the media and public relations industries, within the specialism of online journalism. Modules in the first year include an introduction to web design and production, writing for purpose (including the web) and for the news, content creation (using sound, photography and video), and communication studies.

ANIMATION:

Animation at its best has magic, can suspend disbelief and sometimes marry this to live action reality. The programme is firmly rooted in effective communication to an audience through narrative and graphic depth, utilising all the traditional drawing and contemporary digital methods important in exciting people and enticing them in to a world of story telling through visual and audio means.

The emphasis of the course is firmly routed in effective communication audience through the creative use of mood, atmosphere, narrative and graphic depth. Whilst developing a broad based understanding of the design principles of direction across the time based media and techniques of animation, within both its social, avant-garde and cyclic fashion contexts.
