The Nap Cat App is both an educational children's story and a timed app designed to help children sleep. The app includes a story called "Chessie-Bessie, the Nap Cat, Gets a Home". This narrated and captioned picture book can also be read by a child, or read by a parent with the sound turned down. It is primarily for children aged K to grade 3, but younger children may simply love looking at the illustrations. The purring portion of the app may also be useful in getting infants to fall asleep. The app teaches children to love and respect animals. In the story, the Nap Cat purrs so loudly that she gives her new family the gifts of relaxation, rest, and sleep. In addition, the app has a timer-controlled low level and higher level purr, to sooth small children into nap and bed time.
