COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2011
Asia’s Largest ICT exhibition will be held from May 31- June 4. The exhibition scale has reached a new height, grew by 8 %, to over 5,200 booths and 1,800 exhibitors.
Being the world’s most important ICT procurement platform, COMPUTEX is where all the exhibitors showcase the latest products and technology especially the Mobile Devices,
including tablet PC, e-book reader, smart phone, and the Internet of Things applications will be the highlight this year.
Expand in ICT applications; deepen the industry of smart handheld device
According to the Industrial Development Bureau (IDB) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA),
the total production output value of smart hand-held devices projected to hit US$16.73 billion (NT$ 501.9 billion) in 2010,
and predicted to increase to US$56 billion (NT$1.68 trillion) in 2014. There were 286 millions of smart phones sold last year,
an increase of 22%. The Taiwanese manufacturers had produced 68 million units, supplying 23% of global demand and continue to grow.
The potential of business opportunities smart handheld devices is gigantic, attracting Intel, AMD, Microsoft, Acer, MSi, Asus, MiTAC, ECS, VIA Technologies,
Delta Electronics, Freescale, Netronix and others to show many products including smart phones, “super” phones, Tablet PCs, eBook Readers,
portable GPS where the internal communication functions are customized for specified consumer’s needs.
ECFA opens doors of opportunity for COMPUTEX to slice big share of China’s 12th 5-Year Plan
The implementation of economic cooperation framework agreement (ECFA) signed last year will take effect this year,
which Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) formed small group to study and prioritize several important “cross-straits industries” such as Internet Of Things (IOT) to cooperate extensively.
TCA passionately invited Chinese buyers to come Taiwan and join the COMPUTEX exhibition, especially re-opening the TWTC Hall 2 to serve as a common platform for both sides to exchange competitiveness
in terms of new technologies and fostering more business opportunities in correlate to the fulfill the China’s 12th 5-year plan endorsed by the Chinese government.
