Application Description
UAHuntsville scientists have used Satellite remote sensing products in the Community Multiscale Air Quality Modeling System (CMAQ) to provide forecast guidance for particulate matter air quality. As a first step, we are using the geostationary fire and emission products from NOAA in CMAQ to assess PM2.5. Currently the UAHuntsville forecast covers Eastern US. However, this app uses the data from AirNow to provide Air Quality for the Western US.
