Migrans is a tool whose aim is to make the observation of birds during their migration through the Strait of Gibraltar easier for the user. It is the first specific app about migrant birds in the Strait for mobile phones.
It contains an interactive bird guide which includes almost all of the species that can be observed during the migrations through the Strait of Gibraltar: soaring (raptors and storks) and marine birds (gulls, gannets, terns, alcidae, shearwaters, storm petrels, etc.). Also, there is a description of the main observation sites and their location, being possible to trace a route them and recommendations on whether to choose between one or another, depending on wind conditions.
The app allows the user to select a species as spotted and send the information automatically to a Field Notebook where all the sightings of the day are recorded.
Migrans also incorporates a list of all the birds in Spain with a countdown counter where the user will be able to look up which species they have spotted and how many there are left to see.
