Application Description
MicMonitor allows you to take the input from your iPhone's microphone and output it through the headphone jack, which means you can use your iPhone as an external microphone if you connect a "male-to-male" adapter!
Or, just use MicMonitor to monitor the microphone feedback in realtime!
-- How to use as an external microphone --
Launch MicMonitor and plug in your "male-to-male" cable into your iPhone - this is a cable which has two inputs on both ends.
Plug the other end of the cable into the device you want to use for external input - you should plug it into the "line-in" on this device.
On the device, you will need to make sure that the "line-in" microphone is selected for MicMonitor to work!

MicMonitor works with iPod touch and iPad, however headphones with microphone is required for iPod touch.
iPad works without external headphones/microphone in 2x scale mode for optimal performance. A high resolution iPad version will be coming soon in a free update.
