This application provides information about Washington DC and New York City transit. It locates nearest transit stops, provides directions to those stops and real-time GPS-tracked transit arrival predictions, schedule and alerts.

o Find any bus stop or train station (for the supported transit agencies) anywhere in Washington DC or New York City
o See transit agency alerts such as delays, elevator/escalator incidents, and any other alerts issues by the transit agency
o Search for a Metro Bus stop by stop ID or route name
o See the complete list of stops for each direction of a route
o See the complete route of a bus along with the stops on a map
o See the current location of a route’s buses on a map
o Add any train/bus stop or route as a favorite for quick access

The stops can be displayed in two different views:

o Map view
This view uses your current location and locates the nearest stops, which are then displayed on the map. You can select a stop to see the routes or lines served by that stop & real time arrival estimates or schedule. Changing the region displayed by the map shows the stops available within that region.

o List view
This view displays the stops as a list indicating the distance between your current location and each stop. The list can be ordered by distance (default) from your current location, alphanumeric or by route.

By selecting a stop or train station from either the map or the list view you can view the transit arrival time estimates or schedule for that stop.

A distinguishing feature of this application is that it provides transit information for the transit system of two cities: New York & Washington DC. It uses location services to determine what city you are currently in and it automatically displays the transit system of that city without any user intervention.

This application is designed with an intuitive and effective UI that provides a plethora of functionality, which is helpful to both the savvy DC & NY commuters and tourists.
