A compass to point you to Mecca. A customizable prayer alarm. Automated Adhans from Mecca to summon you to prayer.
God always knows where you are – physically and metaphorically – but you often don’t. This can sometimes make it difficult to fulfill your religious obligations. What time is the next prayer? Which way is Mecca?
That is why we developed MeccaLocator. Now, no matter where you are in the world, you will always have your very own Qiblah – and your very own Muezzin – right in your pocket.
MeccaLocator combines the benefits of three different Apps:
• An customizable prayer alarm that can be set to pray 3, 5, or 6 times a day, depending on your needs and the religious authority you favor. MeccaLocator automatically adjusts to different time zones and senses where on earth you are so that sunrise and sunset times are always accurate.
• An automated Qibla direction finder that accurately points you toward Mecca and lets you know how far from it you are. For iPhone 3GS users, MeccaLocator uses a compass function to provide the most accurate orientation to Mecca… short of actually being there. For the iPhone 3G and Touch users, MeccaLocator implements WiFi triangulation (which may take a couple of minutes) to correctly orient you towards Mecca.
• An automated Adhan directly from Mecca that rings the melodic call to prayer and is unique to each prayer time. Once you have locked onto the direction of Mecca and are ready to perform your prayers, the app transforms into a beautiful prayer rug to get you in the spirit. All you need to provide is a humble heart and pure intention.
We also just released an AllahuAkbar app. It is a fun yet reverent way to declare God is Great! You know it. We know it. Now, with a push of a button, you can let everyone else know it too (Just don't use it on a crowded airplane!).
