The Birth of a museum exhibition is the first major presentation of the collection of the future Louvre Abu Dhabi museum. It unveils a selection of one hundred and thirty works. It is structured around a number of issues that are at the heart of the Louvre Abu Dhabi's identity: universalism, confronting evidence left by the great civilizations, as well as the multidisciplinary nature of artistic creation.
The application offers a tour of 40 masterpieces of the exhibition. These are divided into 6 themes: Ancient Worlds, The Sacred, The Eastern Image, Western Gaze, Discoveries and Fantasy, The Travelling Form, Ornament and Modernity. Jean Nouvel's architectural project is also presented. Each step, introduced by an audio commentary, is also illustrated with photos.
A children's tour enables youngsters to discover the works in the exhibition representing animals, by solving puzzles.
The Birth of a museum exhibition is open from 22 April to 20 July 2013 at Manarat Al Saadiyat, Abu Dhabi.
