Since 1948 UK government has run an annual competition for the best in residential design, construction and layout, the Housing Design Awards. This is organised and administered by a broad partnership of government departments and agencies, professional institutions and the industry's standards setting body, NHBC.

The partnership includes the Greater London Authority which has a strategic role in housing in London's 33 local planning boroughs. This is as an illustrated guide of all entries submitted within the GLA area. The Housing Design Awards invite both Completed developments and those with recent Planning permission which are still in their early part of their
construction and marketing phase, so this makes this app of 71 schemes the most comprehensive live report of the best new homes in the capital available for sale and rent.
