Linda Jeffrey is the Ontario Liberal candidate for Brampton-Springdale.
Linda has been an active member of the Brampton community for much of her adult life. Since moving to Brampton in 1983 she served as councillor for Ward 2 from 1991 until her election to Queen’s Park in 2003.
Once elected to Queen’s Park, Linda championed her growing community’s need for a hospital, leading to the opening of Brampton-Civic Hospital in 2007.Linda continues to fight for investment in health care and education, leading the charge for the re-development of Peel Memorial Integrated Centre for Health and Wellness.
Linda has had numerous portfolios including Parliamentary Assistant to the Ministers of Children and Youth Services, Democratic Renewal, Intergovernmental Affairs, Citizenship and Immigration and Transportation. While in her current position as Minister of Natural Resources, Linda has championed the protection of the environment and conservation efforts through the passing of the Far North Act and the Endangered Species Act.
