When using the Mobile Filter for iOS Devices, students login with their regular network credentials. The Mobile Filter browser communicates requests from the device back to your local Lightspeed server or a hosted Lightspeed server (depending on your implementation). In turn, the Lightspeed server references the URL requests with its content database and your policies and either allows the request to be processed or sends a blocking and redirect message to the user.
In this way, policies and protection are extended to mobile users—whether they are attached to the local network or not.
