Application Description

Use Legimus to listen to digital talking books and talking newspapers on your Iphone or Ipad.

Legimus is an app from the Swedish Agency for Accessible Media; MTM. Legimus is adapted to the needs for persons with reading disabilities. To get access to talking books at MTM contact your local library for more information and registration. You need to have a subscription to be able to listen to a newspaper in the app. Contact your newspaper if you want to subscribe to a talking newspaper.

This is the third version of the app. You search for books inside the app from our digital library. You can download the books or stream. Newspapers can only be downloaded. You can add your own content and open it in the app. If you have a subscription you can read your talking newspaper in the app. Login is required for that service.

Playback

During playback, Legimus will highlight text synchronized to the audio

You may adjust the playback speed

You may navigate on section headings, page numbers, paragraphs or sentences, and similar, depending on how the specific title is produced

You may search for specific text or topics in the book

You may alter the book's font size and color, to match your preferences

You can use the device's VoiceOver mode to improve accessibility

Legimus is adapted to the needs for the visual impaired and reading disabled users
