This pack of sequence educational game is designed by a team of experienced speech therapists and education consultants, integrated with theories of speech therapy, child development and education together with their clinical experience. The pack consists of two series. Series 1 and Series 2 include 38 sets of sequence describing daily routines of children. It can be used by educational professionals as training tools (for example, expanding vocabulary and developing narrative skills). It can also be used by parents as family activities. Through sequencing and describing the sequence of events, it can help children establishing logical thinking (for example, temporal concept and causal relationship) and enhancing expressive language skills. These are valuable and prerequisite skills for storytelling. The pictures of activities also provide good models for establishing good daily routines and learning to be independent. Further, training through interactive activities promote enjoyable and flexible learning environment which facilitate the learning process. Parents and educators may select the appropriate activities and approach depending on the children’s age, interest and abilities.
Suggested Activities:

1 Sequencing and Verbal Comprehension Skills
1.1 Select a sequence. Show and describe the first sequence to the child, then show and describe the second sequence card. Continue until the sequence is complete.
1.2 Ensure understanding by asking the child to point to the appropriate sequence using simple sentences.
1.3 Take the opportunity to demonstrate appropriate language and create a dialog.
1.4 Present the scenario in random order and ask the child to sequence them appropriately.
1.5 If the child has difficulties sequencing, trainer repeats demonstrating the whole sequence.

2 Sequencing and Verbal Expression Skills
2.1 Select a sequence familiar to the child.
2.2 Encourage the child to describe each picture in detail.
2.3 Praise the child for the language production. Accept and develop words and expand phrases the child produces.

3 Predicting game
3.1 Select a sequence, show and describe the first two or three scenes to the child.
3.2 Discuss with the child what might happen next. Continue until the sequence is complete.
3.3 Encourage the child to imagine what might happen after the end of the sequence.

4 Relate to the child’s experience
4.1 Encourage the child to talk about his own experience to promote natural and functional language use.
