Application Description
Build your own wind turbine (horizontal axis, vertical axis) and see how many houses can be powered with it.
iWindTurbines calculates the electricity power generated by different types of wind turbines. Select the type of the turbine, enter the rotor diameter, rotor height, air density, wind speed, aerodynamic efficiency and electro-mechanical efficiency of the turbine and iWindTurbines calculates the generating electricity power and the number of houses that can be powered with this turbine.

-Different wind turbine configurations: horizontal axis, vertical axis (Darrieus), vertical axis (Savonius)
-Manage Metric and Imperial units
-Calculates the nominal output and annual output power
-Shows the number of houses powered by the turbine
-Adjustable annual house electricity consumption
-Shows the available power of the wind
-Calculates blades swept area
-Default button to set values for a 1 MW and 10 kW turbines
