Have you ever taken a walk in a touristic neighborhood and wanted a tour guide to tell you about all the sites you were passing by? Or driven by an interesting monument, building or landmark, and wondered what it is?

Perhaps you are going on a vacation and want to learn about the interesting locations at your destination. Or have gone hiking in the wilderness and are curious about the facts and fairy tales of the natural phenomena around you.

With iWiki Tour, read over 7 million Wikipedia articles about the places around you, wherever you may be travelling around the world, or in your hometown! Touristic attractions, buildings, landmarks, monuments, historical sites, natural features and landscapes, and more.

Let the Cruise Control feature automatically and in real time show you on a map the Wikis available for the sites you are currently seeing from your car or while taking a walk. Or search for particular places anywhere around the globe, see them on a map, and read their Wikis.

We use a number of different information engines to try our best to find the place you are looking for along with its Wiki. We also have a minimal data usage policy, so that you can tour away without severely denting your data limit!

Quotes from our customers:
-“I took this app with me on my trip to Egypt and boy, was it surreal to walk down the streets of Cairo and be instantly updated with information about the ancient ruins I was seeing! And this for less than the cost of my morning coffee, awesome!”
- “I can’t believe my neighborhood had so much history!”
- “I just love those small wiki-pins!”

Features:
•Search for any geographical area or site (e.g. ‘Taj Mahal’ or ‘Yosemite’) to see it on a map along with the Wikipedia articles that have been written about it. Geographical areas include buildings, landmarks, monuments, historical sites, touristic attractions, and natural features such as mountains, forests, landscapes, lakes, waterfalls, valleys etc. Over 7 million articles available for places all around the world!
•The Wikipedia articles are indicated on a map using ‘wiki-pins’ that are dropped on each point for which a Wiki is available. Tap on a wiki-pin to read its Wiki.
•Searching can be done via three ways from a single intuitively-driven screen:
1.Search for any geographical area by name / address to go to its map and see the Wikis that are available for it and around it.
2.See your location on the map and see the Wikis for locations that are immediately around you.
3.Drag the map to a desired area and tap to retrieve the articles available in and around it.
•Read a Wiki by tapping on its wiki-pin on the map. Alternatively, tap on the ‘List’ button to see and search a listing of available Wikis categorized by type (e.g. ‘Localities’, ‘Landmark’, ‘Mountainous Area’).
•The Cruise Control feature will show you your current location on a map along with the Wikis that are available around you. The map and the wiki-pins are automatically updated in real time as you drive or walk so that when you are near an interesting site, you are immediately able to see it on the map and tap on its wiki-pin to read its Wiki.
•Cruise Control also shows you the direction you are facing on the map; so when you see an exciting structure, just turn towards it and let Cruise Control show it right in front of you on the map along with its wiki-pin.
•Read articles in over 35 languages! Easily set or change your preferred language to see only the articles available in that language.
•Supported Languages: Arabic, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Esperanto, Finnish, French, German, Hebrew, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovene, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese … and more.
