Isabelle du Toit is an internationally recognized, representational contemporary fine artist. She uses realism to start a conversation on mankind's encroachment on nature. This mobile app makes it easy for people to stay in touch and track her progress. The app allows users to view her new works, arranged by category, read her artist statement and allow users to download & email pictures of her work and let friends know about this application via Twitter and Facebook. Users can also email Isabelle directly from within the application. The Settings option allows users to view their device info and control navigation settings to allow/prevent location reports. The application requires an active internet connection to refresh content but will warn users when a connection is not available. By tapping on the painting displayed when the app is run, users activates a slideshow of her most current portfolio. New works will be added periodically.

Artist Statement

Du Toit's artistic inspiration comes directly from her personal observations, experiences and feelings regarding the world we live in today. Her work is essentially about compassion, empathy and universal inter-connectedness; hence a recurring theme in her work concerns humankind's encroachment on Nature and how the environment we have created for ourselves impacts us and all other species to which we are inescapably linked, physically as well as emotionally. She often explores modern isolation and loneliness. 'Ultimately, I think it important to leave sufficient room for the viewer's own interpretation', she says.
