Application Description
Octapad is a flat rectangular plastic surface instrument which is divided into eight parts known as pads. Each part can trigger a different sound.
The iOctapad application gives the user a similar experience on iPhone. This application displays eight pads similar to Octapad which has capability of setting and playing different sounds correspond to each pad. Combination of 8 pads makes a patch.
This is a music fun application for those who want to sing along the beats or just want to practice the percussion instrument on their phone.
Main features of iOctapad Application
• Play default patches: Application provides 5 default patches. User can select any one patch for playing. The sounds of selected patch set automatically on respective pads and audible to user on pad hitting.
• Create Patches: User can create own patches. For making a patch user has to set a sound for each pad using sound list. User can select sound of his choice from the available sound list by hitting the respective pad with the facility of previewing it. On completion save the patch and use it later for playing.
• Edit/Delete existing Patches: This feature helps user to edit and delete the created patch. For editing user has to select the patch (any one) from created patch list and then open it for editing just by hitting the pad. Now user can select any sound from sound list for that pad and save it for playing. In case of deletion user can delete any created patch from created patch list.
• Change Patch: User can change the current patch. User has provision to select the default patch or the already created one.
• Record Sound: User can record and save his own tracks while playing Octapad.
• Play List: Play List contains list of all the recorded sound/track. User can preview them by selecting the sound/track of his choice.
• Zooming: This features helps user to Zoom In/Zoom Out octapad view.
• Background Beats: User can set and play background beats on octapad while playing patches and at the time of sound recording. Right now application supports 5 inbuilt background beats.
