Insider's Grand Canyon: South Rim is a travel app designed specifically for the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Its purpose is to aid the traveler with well organized, easy to access, useful information to actively use throughout a Grand Canyon visit as well as during the pre-planning stages. Your author has worked for the National Park Service for eight years and wanted to use their wealth of insider knowledge to help visitors maximize their time and experiences while visiting the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park and adjoining Tusayan area.

The app is broken up into four easy to navigate sections:

- First is the Home page where you will find a number of maps (interactive Google maps and PDF), a list of touch activated phone numbers you may need, links to applicable websites (daily weather info, sunset times, Park Information, etc.) and a Notes page to help keep track of information that interests you.

- Second is the Info page where you will find logistical information about lodging, campgrounds, RV parks, restaurants, Park fees, wifi spots, shower/laundry, auto mechanics, bank/atm, child day care, pet kennel, medical information, backcountry travel, shuttle busses, Tusayan area information, etc.

- Third is the Activities section where you will discover about opportunities such as hikes, viewpoints, mule rides, helicopter tours, river rafting, scenic drives, Visitor Centers, museums, historical ruins, wildfire lookout towers, Park Ranger programs, the Grand Canyon Field Institute, the Skywalk, etc.

- Fourth is the 'Best Of' section where your authors local knowledge is shared to help you find those extra special moments during your visit. Best Of categories include best sunrise/sunset view, breakfast, short hike, morning run, coffee, ice-cream break, margarita, quick lunch, cocktail hour, pub, live music, and pizza.

The South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park is a huge area and it is this apps intent to empower the user with meaningful and concise information that can be actively used throughout a visit to one of the world's most amazing places.
