Application Description
The 'i' and LIS have launched an iPhone App to help new students find out where to go and what you need to do over the induction period at UCLan. The App includes interactive maps of the campus, an induction checklist of things to do and useful contact details for UCLan Schools and Services.
The Induction App supports iPhone, iPod Touch and the iPad
Download the App before you arrive and use it to check that you are ready to start at UCLan.
The App features websites which will help you prepare for starting study at UCLan, and will support you through your first few weeks, including:
The Students’ Union
The "i" Information Centre
IT & Library Services
and myUCLan (our online service to help you enrol and manage your study)
The Induction Checklist outlines what you need to do. It is interactive so you can find out more about each task by clicking on it, and you can tick off each task you have completed.
Need to choose an elective? You can find out all about electives and sign up by choosing our electives section.
Our App keeps you in touch with UCLan by providing you with contact details for all our School Offices.
Most students get lost in their first few weeks, with the App you can just use the Maps section to find your way around. Use either the GPS map or the PDF campus map offline.
You can setup your device to use the UClan's Wireless network before you arrive on campus. Just click on the WiFi icon and download and install the settings to your device. You will need your UCLan Username and Password to do this. Information about how to obtain this is available through the app.
