Application Description
iHUD is an app that turns the iPhone and iPad into an educational aerospace-inspired mobile Glass Cockpit. iHUD derives its name from Head-Up Display, which depicts motion and guidance information, and data for optimal situational awareness. Imagine this information is provided by iHUD, made possible by the iPhone’s on-board accelerometer and GPS sensor.
iHUD depicts an extraordinary graphic interface with a simulated moving horizon based on the vehicle's acceleration, dynamic moving speed, altitude and vertical velocity ribbons, rotating compass card, slip/skid ball, and separate accelerometer (G-meter).
iHUD is designed to be an iPhone/iPAD app for education, entertainment, and recreation.

• Toggle between GPS and Magnetic compass for stationary and dynamic heading.

• Accelerometer control slider for attitude.

Limitations:
In the current version of iHUD, the horizon is not a reference horizon suitable for aircraft use, it acts like a pictorial inclinometer. An external gyro or future on-board gyro would address this situation.
iHUD 2.0: No GPS data and camera on iPod touch. Magnetic compass only on iPhone 3GS. OS 3.1 required. Note that the iPAD 3G only features a GPS.

Never use the iHUD for steering airplanes, helicopters, boats, motorcycles, and other powered vehicles, including UFO's.
