Application Description
Very flexible and very user-friendly, iHealth is for anyone tracking mundane or complex health issues. By tracking health, pharmaceutical, and mood events, iHealth timeline helps users create an overall health picture and ultimately puts their health back squarely into their own hands.
No numbers, no scoring, iHealth Timeline allows the user to be completely and brutally honest about their health conditions to aid in diagnosis and also in determining an overall health picture. While not intended to replace medical care by a physician, iHealth Timeline helps the patient to be a better storyteller about their health, which allows for a more accurate health picture and, in the end, a better diagnosis. The health, pharmaceutical and mood timelines allow the user to input data of all sorts over time in order to see a broader picture of health and to draw conclusions, spot trends and see potential correlations from it.
The app is password protected for privacy and security and features tip overlay for the new user as well as daily/weekly/never reminders to update the timeline.
The health event timeline has inputs for issue, diagnosis, doctor, date, color code, side effects, complications, implications, family history, next steps and notes to allow for at the simplest (tracking of symptoms) to the most complex (maintaining a record of complex medical issues). Use it to track migraines and their triggers or cancer from the first symptom/diagnosis and all the ensuing complications from it.
The in-app purchase unlocks a great deal of functionality for $0.99.
The pharmaceutical timeline (in-app purchase) allows input of drug, the dosage, the doctor who prescribed it, date, any complications, side effects, notes and color code. Tap the envelope icon and you can create a reminder for daily medications.
The mood timeline (part of the in-app purchase) allows for date input and features a drop-down wheel for mood (how the user feels), stressor (what instigates the feeling) and intervention (what the user did to mitigate the mood) and color code. Mood, Stressor and Intervention each have its own custom input feature. The user can determine which input is the label on the timeline.
iHealth timeline can be printed as a PDF (also part of in-app purchase) in timeline form so that the user can look at the data from a bird's eye perspective to see trends in and about health and to draw conclusions about health. Currently, the PDF is a screenshot of all inputs on all timelines with labels. An update is planned to add information to each input on each timeline.
iHealth timeline also has the ability to be emailed (also part of the in-app purchase) so the user can forward it to anyone upon request. When iHealth timeline is emailed, it is exported as a spreadsheet for Excel as any other format creates an unwieldy file. The user has the ability to select events (individually or all) to email or print.
iHealth timeline can be used natively (the information lives solely on the iPhone) and optionally uploaded to iCloud at any time. Use of iCloud allows for the user to change phones or obtain a new iPhone and maintain all the data previously entered as well as have a backup in place to restore to.
iHealth Timeline is currently only available for the iPhone 4, iPhone 5, and the iPad3. iHealth Timeline functions on the iPad2 and the iPad mini but is currently not supported.
