How it works:

Women in labor need a lot of physical and emotional support, and when you combine that with timing contractions, communicating with your birth team, and trying to remember all those really great tid-bits you learned in your birth class, it can wipe you out! That is why we made the iDoula extremely easy to use. You simply push a button when the contraction begins, and push it again when the contraction ends. The iDoula takes over from there!

Creating iDoula:

When Chad and Cidelia Cruchley were expecting their first child, they did everything they could to prepare for their labor: they toured their hospital, read childbirth books, and took a Bradley Method™ class with Nicole Mark, AAHCC. After shopping the iTunes Store for an App that could support them in labor, they downloaded and used one of the several contraction timers available and quickly recognized that they would appreciate a tool that offered more… a lot more! Chad approached his natural childbirth instructor, Nicole Mark, with some preliminary thoughts about a natural childbirth App, and they enthusiastically developed a partnership. After identifying Chad’s greatest need as an expectant father (how do I help my wife while she is in labor???), they applied Nicole’s extensive experience with new and expectant parents and began designing an application that would skillfully support anyone with a desire to assist a woman in labor. Soon after, the iDOULA was born!
