THE PURPOSE:
iDidit! is a parenting tool to help encourage and motivate children with positive, tactile, and immediate reinforcement. By choosing a reward, setting a goal, and receiving stickers, both the child and parent will be actively working towards reaching a desired behavior or achievement.

THE IDEA:
While out to dinner, my two year old Ava, would have an opportunity to earn stickers. If she earned 3 stickers by demonstrating good restaurant behavior she could have desert. As the stickers and my iPhone sat side-by-side…VOILA! I had an idea! Create an app similar to a sticker chart, but better. Yet another application idea was born…

THE THEORY:
I am a mother and a teacher. As a teacher, I know, especially in managing our most “willful” little ones, how important it is for children to work towards goals. Whether it’s to manage behavior, break a habit, or work towards accomplishing a certain task, a goal-oriented child is successful. As a mother it isn’t easy to keep track of rewarding your little ones. We say, “If you go potty three times you’ll get a prize.” But chances are, we get busy, forget and break promises unintentionally.

iDidit! FEATURES:

THE LITTLE ONES CAN:
* Shake the phone to receive a reward.
* Tap a sticker (a cute smiley face). The sticker will go from grey to yellow. This is an important feature because it allows your child to visually see how close they are to reaching their goal.
* Cheers of excitement sound each time a sticker is earned.
* When a goal is reached the fun begins! The phone bursts with excitement. Fireworks, balloons and cheering will sound. “Way-to-go! You did it! We are so proud of you!” Their name will even appear on the screen. Your child will beam with pride.
* Spread the good news. This part is my absolute favorite part… Just after the cheering and excitement ends, the child will be prompted, “Do you want to share the good news with someone?” With a few simple taps, your child can call (text or email) Daddy, Auntie or Grandma (whoever!) and tell them exactly what great things they accomplished! “Guess what, Papa? I went potty on the potty chair 3 times!” Beyond earning their goal, your child will LOVE this feature. Isn’t verbal praise the best praise of all!

PARENTS CAN:
* Customize the rewards. Delete rewards you don’t want your child to have a chance to earn (tricky-tricky!)
* Choose the reward (instead of shaking one) you want your child to earn.
* Customize the number of stickers to earn (age appropriate feature)
* Title the reward screen with the behavior or goal your child is working on. On one screen your child will see the GOAL/BEHAVIOR, the REWARD, and the STICKERS.
* Customize the reward. A simple graphic of a pizza slice can be labeled “YOUR FAVORITE RESTURANT” or the graphic of kids playing can be labeled “PLAYDATE WITH CHARLEY!”
* Personalize iDidit! by adding your child’s name and their family and friends contact information.
* Brain Boosting Ideas: four suggestion pages titled: Little Guys, Toddlers, Big Kids, and Special Needs offer plenty of ways to use iDidit! from parents, caregivers and teachers.
