‘Ideas to action’ is a mobile app focusing on placing the ideas worth spreading within the TEDx community into action.

Gandhi once said, “Your beliefs become your thoughts, Your thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions, Your actions become your habits, Your habits become your values, Your values become your destiny.” Through this mobile application we hope to accelerate this basic human process captured by Gandhi.

The app takes you through this process in several simple steps.
1.Starting from a TED talk first articulate the central thoughts and concepts that are in that talk. For example from Amy Cuddy’s talk on “Your body language shapes who you are”, one idea is that, ‘body language affects how others see us, but it may also change how we see ourselves’.
2.From each of these ideas, associate with it a simple action that anyone can take. For example and following on from the idea above, ‘examine your body language in different social situations.’
3.Then enable others to share these ideas and register these micro actions as you ‘do’ them.
4.But it does not stop there. We also know that every action has ‘an equal and opposite’ reaction. So we also give people the opportunity to share their reaction to taking the action.

This app is brought to you by a partnership between Intel and TED.
