What is iDeaf Assistant Universal? Why should I download it? iDeaf Assistant is also know as iDA. iDA helps anyone who lost their hearing or a portion of it. iDA only has one goal, to help anyone who can’t hear very clearly. Helping you to understand what’s happening around you. What your friends are saying. What plans are being made with your family. What everyone in the world is trying to tell you. Using Speak* and Dictation* with this application will make a big difference. iDeaf Assistant is a very helpful application. It makes life easier. Sign language is not required. iDeaf Assistant Universal is divided into three parts. There is a male’s voice page. A female’s voice page and a location page.


Select “Male” if you’re a male. You’ll see an array of buttons and a white text field. All the buttons on the left contains audio sounds. For example, if the user press “Hello” an audio file will be played. The audio file will play “Hello” to anyone who is around you. If you press “Home” you’ll be taken back to the home page. If you press “Location” you’ll be taken to another page. You’ll see three buttons located on the tab bar. Zoom in to your current location by pressing “Zoom.” You get to select “Hybrid” or “Satellite” by pressing “Type.” Press “Back” to return to the previous page.

Touch the white text field. With this text field you can type whatever is in your mind. Highlight your sentence(s) and press “Speak.” Is anybody talking to you? Touch the white text field and press the mic on your keyboard. After the person is done talking, press the mic key again and read what was being said. Hit the “Return” key if you’re using an iPhone/iPod Touch to dismiss the keyboard. Hit the down keyboard button to dismiss the keyboard if you’re using an iPad.
