Application Description
iConstructSafe is a collection of 2-3 minute safety reminder videos for the construction professional’s use at the job site (no wifi needed). The app includes a selection of safety videos on power, hand, air, gas and other powered tools. It includes videos on PPE, preventing falls, ergonomics and more.
These 2 minute videos are designed to remind workers on how to use tools safely, right before they use a tool. The worker uses a menu to select the tool video and watches safety tips on the tool, on site, at the tool crib. The app is a collection of engaging short videos that are stored and viewable on an iPhone, iTouch or iPad; no wifi is needed at the site.
Videos remind users on key tips on using tools safely; videos are not intended to be training. The time between training and using the tool can be weeks, months or even years. And most training videos are too long to be replayed at the site. Attention spans are short, and worker time is expensive. Watching a 2-3 minute video right before using a tool provides timely information to recall information and avoid costly incidents.
Warning: the videos are resident in the app so this safety app can be used on a job site without wifi, so it takes 5-10 minute to download the app given the size of the video files.
Monthly video updates will be posted; connect with wifi and get new safety videos and updates, including foreman’s tips on “toolbox talks” and ideas for superintendents running monthly or quarterly safety/productivity meetings.
