Giunti Editore, in collaboration with Centrica, has produced the Great Artists: a series of new concept devoted to the great masters of all times. Three hundred masterpieces in high resolution, to be explored in detail and correlated to one another through innovative software designed to "read" the paintings, to suggest meaningful navigation paths and to offer stimulating iconographic comparisons.
But this is not a visual experience alone.
The application also furnishes the biography of each artist, a text describing his works, a brief reference bibliography, and the chance to appreciate the many musical instruments appearing in the paintings, such as the sound of spinets and lutes in Vermeer and the music on the scores depicted by Caravaggio (for example, in the Rest on the Flight into Egypt).

In the Great Artists application you will also find instructions for utilising the functions provided. When connected to Internet you can make use of all of the functions; when offline, you can read the artist's biography, explore the works on a lower level of enlargement, and read the descriptive entries.
