Upon recommendation of her tutor, Nan Barlow decides to spend her winter holiday in Whitewood, a small village, where she can do some research into witchcraft. Before long strange things start to happen in the small village, and Nan is advised by a priest to leave, ignoring his advice she chooses to stay.
