Green Notes, a new mobile application developed by Purdue University and inspired by agronomy Professor Lori Unruh Snyder’s research, improves the plant identification process by providing an extensive digital library of tropical plants in addition to logging geographical information on plant sightings and note-taking functionality.
Green Notes Costa Rica allows users to search for and take notes about plants they see while gathering additional images they can email to themselves or the app’s designer. Green Notes also logs the geographical locations of plant sightings and lists additional properties of each plant, such as medicinal or holistic uses.
