The “Golden Words” is an application based on the Dolch word list. The list comprises of approximately 220 words, which need to be easily recognized in order to achieve reading proficiency in the English language.

This application splits the Dolch word lists into 5 levels, the words listed in each level correspond to the pre-primer, primer, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade words as defined by Dolch.

The “Golden words” creates a grid of 12 words, each word is randomly chosen for each level. The idea being that person learning the words uses a helper to call out the words, and they press the corresponding word on the grid. The words disappear when pressed, if the word is incorrect the helper can press the button again and the word will reappear.

Golden words have their ability for a user to define a subset of words from each level as the 12 words in the grid. This subset of words will be randomly organized on the grid, and saved for future use. You can define unlimited subsets of words from each level.
