Hi everyone! Welcome to the Daikin Gold Coast Festival of Cycling, a weekend full of cycling and community events including "my" Gran Fondo.

Join members of Orica-GreenEDGE Cycling Team on "Robbie McEwen's Gran Fondo presented by Ausenco". The ride will take you on a 102km loop from Emerald Lakes at Carrara through Nerang to Oxenford where the tough 6km climb up to Mt Tamborine (Eagle Heights) starts. Take a look back when you get to the top to see what all the hard work was for. After the first of two timed KoM's you can top up your bidons, have a quick snack and then enjoy a short descent towards Canungra. Turning off Beaudesert-Nerang Rd you are faced with the second climb of the day, the back side of Beechmont, which gets gradually steeper as you go and brings you onto the Beechmont plateau. After cresting the 2nd King of the Mountain you'll be greeted by million dollar views in every direction but the greatest reward is the long flowing descent down to the valley below and the final run in towards the finish back at Emerald Lakes - but not before one last leg burner at 5km to go over Alexander Dr, a 400m long wall.

At the finish you can rack your bike, kick off your shoes and relax with a drink, something to eat and plenty of entertainment and activities at the GCFoC Community Day. There will also be presentations of King & Queen of the Mountains, Corporate & Club team prizes plus plenty of random draws with awesome prizes from our sponsors.
