Application Description
Galton is a file verification and authentication utility. Galton scans and stores a file's “hash” or “fileprint”, a code which identifies the contents of a file. If a file's contents change, the code changes. You can use Galton to verify whether a file matches a fileprint, telling you whether the contents of the file have changed due to disk failure, network transfer errors, another user's modifications and so on.
Galton supports these algorithms: CRC32, MD4, MD5, TIGER and SHA1.
Galton can import from SFV and MD5 files, and can also export to MD5 files.
