Description: (For iPad)
33 frogs reside in a pond and are frantic to land on an available lily pad. To reach their destination, some frogs are capable of gigantic leaps while other frogs prefer to travel by smaller hops. The aim of the game is to have all 33 frogs land on a lily pad using their comfortable jumping range. The game is played on a grid with 36 squares. The starting locations of the 3 empty lily pads can be randomly generated or specifically chosen. THIS ALLOWS FOR 7140 DIFFERENT STARTING COMBINATIONS TO PLAY THE GAME.

To Begin The Game:
By choosing NEW, your iPad will randomly pick the starting locations of the 3 empty lily pads. If you want to pick the 3 starting locations for the empty lily pads, choose CUSTOM, tap 3 frog squares and then start your game. If you hit RESET, then you will play the game with the same 3 starting locations as your last game so that you can try to improve on your score.

Instructions:
The numbers 1 through 4 down the left hand side of the pond indicate how many squares the frogs in each row can jump to reach a lily pad. This is the exact jumping range of the frogs – they cannot jump a number of squares lower or higher than this number. The frogs can jump horizontally, vertically or diagonally. All the squares, whether they have a frog or a vacant lily pad or a lily pad with a frog on top, are counted in the course of a move.

Tap the frog that you want to move for the current turn. The frog will light up and assume a jumping position. Then tap the lily pad that you want the frog to jump to. If it is a valid move, the frog will land on the lily pad and the space left vacant from the jumping frog will have an empty lily pad appear. Now, a different frog can jump to this lily pad. Each frog is permitted to jump one time. Once a frog occupies a lily pad, it may not jump to a different lily pad. If you choose UNDO, then your last move will be negated. You may move this frog to a different lily pad, or tap a completely different frog. The only situation where UNDO will not work is when the game has ended due to no more valid moves.

Your game is over when all of the frogs that can make a valid jump have done so. If each frog has successfully jumped to a lily pad, your score will be “zero” and you will hear the peaceful sounds of a happy pond. If you reach a point where some of the frogs are not on a lily pad, but there are no more valid moves, then your score will be how many unhappy frogs are left that could not jump to a lily pad. You can try for a better score with the same 3 starting spaces by choosing RESET. Or you can choose NEW to start a game with different starting spaces and see if you can lower your score of unhappy frogs.

Variations:
You can play the game with or without a timer. Your iPad will record the ten best scores for timed games and the ten best scores for untimed games. The 3 squares that were the starting locations of the empty lily pads will also be recorded. You can try to improve your score for any of the 7140 combinations for the 3 starting locations of the empty lily pads.
