The Friend Reminder app lets you create date-time and location triggered notifications related to your contacts and friends. You don't have to maintain an additional friend-list but simply choose from your existing contacts in your native contacts app.

The idea behind Friend Reminder is that your friends are the anchor point, around which you plan to be notified and reminded.
