"iMosquito" may be world first mosquito repellent software using digital signal processing technique to imitate the sound of the male mosquito's or dragonfly's wing-beat.

How can it work? In the insect world, the flapping wing is their language and also represents their sex identity among their breed as well as to distinguish different kind of the insects.

As we all known that only fertilized female mosquitoes suck our blood before laying eggs because they need the iron and protein from the blood to make their eggs. In this stage, they will most likely run away from the male mosquitoes' approach.

Dragonflies are natural predators to eat mosquitoes of all life-cycle stages. So mosquitoes must be well-known the predators' wing-beat sound and run away from them.

This software is using digital signal processing techniques to imitate wing flapping sound in these four areas: -
1. Generate the wing flapping frequency with speed profiles for different insect body sizes
2. Physical modeling the wing resonance sound at each wing flapping excitation
3. Simulate the wing balancing sound under the ambient disturbance by wind
4. Generate the mate hunting sound for the male mosquito's wing-beat only
