Flipsy Flash Cards is a ground-breaking custom flash card app. Unlike other flash card apps, Flipsy Flash Cards enables you to create your own custom flash cards using the iPhone handset without having to rely upon the default pre-installed cards that come with other flash card apps.

The app is perfect for those studying a course in Chinese Mandarin, as it enables the user to create custom cards that they have to memorize for their lessons. The user can put the cards in a group and name it "Lesson 1" or "Week 1" and do the same thing for successive lessons. Also ideal for those who wish to study Mandarin at their own pace and in their own way.

Some of the features of the app include:
• Users can create their own custom flash cards and groups (categories) easily using the iPhone handset. No need for the complicated process of adding cards via a website.
• Users have the flexibility to create cards manually (using the iPhone's inbuilt Chinese international keyboard) or automatically using the “Add Words Automatically” function. To use this function, the user simply enters a word in English, taps the “Translate” button and the word is instantly translated into Chinese. From there the user taps on the "Copy" button which copies the English word and the Chinese translation to a card, which can then be saved.
• Users can also record their own audio for a card. They simply tap on the “Record Voice” button to record themself (or another voice recording) pronouncing the word in Chinese (obviously it helps if they actually know how to pronounce the word).
• Default groups of cards that come with the app include: Adjectives (110 cards), Adverbs (19), Common Verbs 1 (15), Common Verbs 2 (15), Greetings and Manners (29), Numbers (27), Pinyin Non-Sibilant Consonants (13), Pinyin Sibilant Consonants (19), Pinyin Tones (5) and Pinyin Vowels (29).
• Users have generous access to over 2500 additional cards from many different category groups available for download from the "Download Cards" section. Some of the card groups feature "extended" versions which feature a much larger amount of cards which are available for download for $0.99 USD.
• Practise Mode features a unique repetitive learning system to familiarize users with the words as quickly as possible. Also features a "Card Reset Timer" in which the cards score tally resets after a specific amount of time (determined by the user), which encourages the user to revisit the cards after a period of time to remaster them.
• Practise Mode also features high-quality audio of the Chinese words which were recorded by a Chinese-born Mandarin speaker.
• App features a comprehensive Statistics section where users can monitor their progress.
