FirstFireAlert: $1 app that converts your iPad into your home’s fire alert system.

On detecting smoke or fire at home, the fire alarm starts ringing. If you are at home, you hear the ringing fire alarm sounds and react accordingly.

But what if you are away from home when the Fire alarm starts ringing?
You will not hear the warnings sounded by ringing fire alarm bell if you are away from home. Therefore, you cannot do anything to minimize the risks of possible fire hazards.

‘FirstFireAlert’ is the first application to provide an automatic technique to communicate the fire alarm warnings ringing in your home to your phone while you are away from home. When the home fire alarm starts ringing, the ’FirstFireAlert’ application initiates a call from your home iPad to your phone to alert you.

Please watch the "FirstFireAlert" demo video at www.firstapps.wordpress.com
Alternatively you can watch "FirstFireAlert app demo video" at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06Nf60rjOs4

Then follow the steps exactly as described below.

Step 1 - Installation:
Install the ‘FirstFireAlert’ application on your iPad. You also need to install and sign up for a free account of 'Line2' application on both your iPad and your phone. After signing up, you will get your iPad's ‘Line2’ number and your Phone's ‘Line2’ number. The ‘Line2’ application can be downloaded free of cost on both your iPad and your phone as in fig (a).

Step 2 - Save ‘Line2’ Phone number:
After installing the applications, enter your Phone's ‘Line2’ number in the text box of ‘FirstFireAlert’ application installed on your iPad and press "Save" button as in fig (b).

Step 3 - Test Mode (do only once):
Make sure that your iPad is kept at home with Wi-Fi connected and your phone has Internet connected while using this ‘FirstFireAlert’ application at all times.

Place your iPad at a convenient place below one of the actual fire alarm installed in your home and start ringing the actual fire alarm installed in your home at its peak volume. Immediately thereafter, Press “Start App” in the application as in fig (c). Let the fire alarm keep ringing and leave the application running till a call initiates automatically from the iPad (Wi-Fi connected) to your Phone (internet connected) as in fig (d). If a ‘Line2’ call initiates automatically from your iPad to your phone as in fig(d), then the ‘FirstFireAlert’ application is ready to use.

If a ‘Line2’ call did not initiate then redo Step 3 till a automated call initiates.

Step 4 - Use Mode:
Always make sure that your iPad is kept at home with Wi-Fi connected and your phone has Internet connected while using ‘FirstFireAlert’ application.
Re-launch the application and Press 'Start App'. The mode would have changed to 'Use Mode' as in fig (e). Leave the application running while you are away from home. If the fire alarm installed in your home starts ringing, the application initiates a ‘Line2’ call from your iPad (Wi-Fi connected) kept at home to your Phone (internet connected) while you are away from home. If the fire alarm does not ring then on returning home, Press 'Stop' to stop 'FirstFireAlert' application.

Using the ‘FirstFireAlert’ application:
While leaving home, keep the ‘FirstFireAlert’ application running on your iPad kept at home as described in step(4). The iPad must be kept at home with Wi-Fi connected and your phone must have internet connected to be able to alert you.The ‘FirstFireAlert’ application is not fool-proof and is not a substitute for your responsibility.
