The FAKEless App takes the viewers to a specific territory, where emotions are provoked (evoked) through the landscape. This journey was made with the intention of sharing the perception of emotions created as consequences of isolation, individuality, abandoned places, fears, death. A perception of how we deal with it in our modern society.

The FAKEless App was created entirely in the area surrounding the Region of Murcia, as an extension of Abraham Hurtado’s Installation, FAKEless, presented in La Conservera, Centre of Contemporary Art, Ceutí, Murcia Spain. The footage was made in September 2011, followed by the opening of the Installation at La Consevera in February 2012.

The FAKEless App is a distinctive way to approach the architectural reality of that Region. Most of the construction sites and buildings appears like a plague given to the local community as “The promise land”. This is the consequence of the “boom/ speculation” that happened there up until 2008. The surrounding landscape of this area has a bunch of buildings, golf resorts and residential houses unfinished because of the economic crisis. Now it appears as ghost cities or monuments in the middle of this arid and devastated landscapes. Through this journey the emotional body becomes the contrast to the surrounding utopia.

The FAKEless App invites the viewer to navigate through a maze of images, sounds, videos, interviews, texts and essays. The viewers are able to change their route through the structure of the App in order to create their own unique experience.
